Net Zero Emissions
The NSW Government is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The government’s strategy involves transitioning from fossil fuels, such as gas and coal, to more eco-friendly forms of energy, such as wind and solar (renewables). The NSW Government believes that gas still has a role to play until 2050.
Implications for South Coast Residents
Residents shouldn’t panic about the move away from gas but be mindful of the shift taking place in the Australian energy market (renewables are in; fossil fuels are on the outer). Many people on the South Coast have already shifted to solar (the most popular renewable energy source for homeowners).
Gas to Electric Conversions – A Practical Approach
The simple way to transition from gas to electricity is to replace old gas appliances (when they stop working) with new electric ones. The team at Far South Plumbing can assist by decommissioning the old gas appliance and connecting the new electric one (we work with trusted electricians). We also dispose of the old gas appliance for you.
